European Travels: (P. III): Rome + Amalfi, Italy

After our hustle and bustle in Amsterdam and Germany, we wanted to explore and to also relax.  So, we chose Rome and the Amalfi Coast.  We felt like characters in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (woah..) traveling to a historical place. It was almost overwhelming to be surrounded by so much historical grandeur. I was really excited to visit the Colosseum because I remember learning about in in my World History class in high school and telling myself, "I am going to visit that some day."  Justin was itching to photograph inside the pantheon and, of course to taste as much pizza and wine as possible.  Even though I am lactose intolerant, we indulged in daily doses of gelato.  Thanks to the magic of Lactaid I am still here!

During our time off the Amalfi Coast, we stayed at Hotel Luna and fell in love the with our view from outside our window.  We took a day to travel by boat along the Amalfi coast while visiting Capri.  We jumped out of the boat and swam in the middle of the ocean to a private beach and I was determined to collect sea glass.  We visited the beautiful island of Capri and took a gondola to eat gelato at the top of the mountain.  During our busy stay, we even had time to steal a cheesy photo in the elevator of the hotel.
